Broadband Terrestrial

The terrestrial broadband GIS data set shows attributes and coverage areas at a census block level by facility-based carriers.  Relevant data of a carrier’s network is collected and digitized which can be used in conjunction with a street data base or aerial imagery in order to evaluate the attributes and functionality of a Broadband Carrier.  This data set also includes maximum and typical upload and download speeds, along with other infrastructure information such as type of technology used to deliver services. The data sets paint an overview in GIS of what a terrestrial broadband carrier offers to a consumer, based on specific relevant data. Terrestrial broadband carrier data can help users make better informed location based decisions for a variety of industries including economic development.
