Cell Towers

GeoTel provides cell tower locations from approximately 440,000 cell tower sites, which includes approximately 225,000 microwave towers. Cell tower location data allows users to find readily-leased wireless facilities (towers, rooftops, water tanks, raw land, billboards, etc.) to deploy or fill-in cellular, PCS, WiMAX, LMDS, MMDS, and other wireless coverage.

Cell tower locations infrastructure data set includes site ID, name, description, location, ground elevation, company name, FCC ASR number, FAA study number, tower type, and status.

Tower information and 3D-mapping capabilities will allow users to determine “line-of-sight” projections. By incorporating additional telecommunications data such as fiber route data, users can locate fiber in and around a wireless tower or facility. Government agencies, consultancies, and managers of communications infrastructure leverage the cell tower data set to examine existing and potential service areas.

Benefits of Cell Tower Location Data

Conduct competitive analysis with service provider and tower coverage information

Identify opportunities for Ethernet or lit wave solutions over fiber back-haul for both small-cell and macro-cell applications

Cell tower height data is used to determine “line of sight” projections

Wireless carriers and cell tower companies use cell tower location information to determine the proximity of fiber to mono-poles and other types of towers

Power and utility companies use cell tower data to determine site preparation needed to coordinate system integration installations

Public safety agencies use cell tower locations to optimize preparedness and response times during emergencies, and recovery and relief operations
